Down at the plot: more growth!

Following a period of warm days and consistent but soft rain, the allotment is looking lush! Things are shooting up everywhere and the soil is in perfect condition for pulling up weeds. Above all, everything’s very green. It’s lovely, and with so few people down at the allotment today I think it’s one of the most peaceful visits I’ve had so far.

It’s hard to describe progress of plants, so here are some pictures. Our onions, beets, Brussels sprouts, strawberries, raspberries and snow peas (mange tout) are doing really well. I am particularly fond of my pictures of the mange tout, which I only planted a week ago and is now quite literally breaking through! What’s happening in your garden?

Sadly, our beans aren’t looking great.
